Data by the Bureau of Labor Statistics in December 2020 reveals that 50.04% of occupations in the US are held by women, a near 1% jump from last year. Jobs for women seem to run aplenty, mostly in healthcare and retail. A significant number also did not need a college degree to get where they are.

Women have indeed come a long way in the workplace. 

If you’re looking for good paying jobs for women without a degree, you’d be happy to know there are many choices available for you. Several regionally accredited universities in the US also offer career training online / online courses - that can get you certified in as little as four months - if you need certification or a refresher, without you needing to attend a brick-and-mortar school.

Teacher’s Aide

While not considered to be among high paying careers for women, being a teacher assistants is great for those who later wish to pursue formal education in teaching, particularly primary students. It’s also popular among women who like working with kids and don’t have a college degree, since teacher’s aides are almost always only required to have at least a high school diploma. 

Teacher’s aides also don’t need on-the-job training and adopt the skills they have as they go. These include assisting teachers in everyday tasks, such as taking classroom attendance, assisting and instructing small groups of students, preparing and grading class materials, and supervising students on a field trip.

Massage Therapist

As the benefits of alternative therapies like massage become more widely recognized in the medical and scientific field, massage therapists are also growing in demand. These professionals can be found in diverse environments -  cruise ships, clinics, doctor’s office, spas, fitness centers, and hotels. Plenty also work as independent contractors. 

Though massage therapists are required to undergo 500 or more hours of massage therapy program, one does not need a college degree to actually practice it. Texas A&M University - Texarkana actually offers an online Massage Therapy Program ranging from 500 to 700 hours, wherein you can take the externship in an accredited spa or massage facilities. This makes it one of several good paying jobs for women without a degree. 

Veterinary Assistant

But for many, the reward comes in the form of helping animals. This job is perfect for those who love animals and who might be looking to obtain formal education as a vet and to establish their own veterinary clinic later on.

Veterinary assistants aid veterinarians in providing care and treatment for various animal species, from common pets to exotic ones. They help vets during examinations, banking/ payment, diagnostics, research, grooming, and boading. 

Electronic Health Records Management (EHRM) Professional
